Famed artist Bernie Wrightson dies at 68

We here at Comic Crusaders were sadden to learn of the passing of a truly great comic artist. Legendary comic book artist Bernie Wrightson has lost his battle with brain cancer, this according to a statement by the artist’s wife on Bernie’s official webpage.

Wrightson was the co-creator behind the character Swamp Thing, as well as numerous runs within the industry. Wrightson was famed for his hyper-detailed style that often dealt with Gothic themes and the macabre. Crusaders everywhere would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Wrightson family.

Bernard Albert “Bernie” Wrightson, October 27, 1948 – March 18, 2017
