REVIEW: Broken Moon #1

Broken Moon #1
Created by Philip Kim

Letters by Marshall Dillon

Let’s judge this book by its cover…A gorgeous gothic style with a blood moon/skull looming over shadows. It’s a real dark horror cover. Nicely done.

Now if you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… The Earth’s resources have all but dried up and most of mankind has moved to the moon, but man being man even the risk of extinction isn’t enough to stop mans nature. The first moon war has killed off every last one of them and broken the moon so badly it almost destroyed the Earth itself. With very few humans left its now the time of the monsters to rule the planet. Vampires and Werewolves roam free. The vampires farm humans for blood while the Werewolves hunts then for meat. A few survivors are fighting back but it seems hopeless. Until we see the new pack alpha of the wolves no longer wants to hunt humans. Will the wolves help the humans rid the planet of the vampires and live side by side or will they simply help to save the best meat for themselves?

Actually a good book. Very few written words most of the story is told with the beautifully dark art panels. It’s only a 4 issue mini series so it’s clear the pacing will be very fast.

The good, the bad and the star rating…
The Good- Great idea. The overall concept is interesting and well told.
The Bad- Vampires again. It’s a personal thing but vampires are a little over done right now.
The Stars- A strong 4 for the first issue. Let’s hope it keeps up this standard.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
