REVIEW: Deadpool: Mercs for Money #2

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Deadpool in an action pose looking as Deadpool as possible, the detail is really nice on Deadpools costume.

So last issue Deadpool put together a team of Mercs and went on their first mission to retrieve an item, that turns out to be a robot that tells the future…sort of. But beige they could get it to the buyer they were attacked and the buyer was killed. Now they’re stuck with the bot and no money so what are they gonna do? Sell it to someone else of course.

So whose bright idea was it to tell every super villain that they’re selling a robot that tells the future? Oh that’s right Deadpool, as the team splits up and try to negotiate a fair price for the robot, turns out all the villains would rather take the bot for free until Deadpool and team show them that knuckle sandwich beats a five finger discount.

This book is surprisingly good, with a team that makes sense for team Deadpool, slapstick being my personal favourite. The art is top notch, I couldn’t find a single panel that I didn’t like, the time taken on the detail shows in every page and I appreciate that as a reader.
The story is so fast with so many characters introduced and the final page made me very happy with the return of an old enemy of Deadpools.

This issue is better than issue one and I’m hoping the rest of the run is this strong.

This one is a 4 star book for me.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
