REVIEW: I Hate Fairyland #3

I Hate Fairyland #3
Written by Skottie Young, Art by Skottie Young & Jean-Francois Beaulieu

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Another fantastic cover from Young, how can the beaten face of a 7-year-old girl be something of beauty… Poor Gert…..NOT! (Check out my reviews for issues 1 and 2)

So just like issue 2 we start after the carnage of a big battle, this time with a horde of zombies sent after Gertrude. Using the axe of the huntsman she dealt with last issue Gert makes light work of the horde…. And some innocent townsfolk before continuing her quest for the key home. Unbeknownst to Gert, Fairyland has a new visitor on the same quest, a bubbly little girl by the name of Happy who has only taken one day to get as far as Gert had in 28 years. Could Gert finally have met her match? NAH.

This remains one of my favourite book out right now. It’s funny and it’s dark and it so original. The art is flawless and the character of Gert is done so well you not only feel sorry for her but you also kinda hate her a little too.
This is easily a must have book. If you don’t have it, get it.

5 stars all the way.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
