Encoding Bushido: Creating the honorable robot New graphic novel from Emmy nominated Visual effects artist!

Jesse Mesa Toves, an Emmy nominated visual effects artist, has successfully funded the Kickstarter campaign to start printing the first chapters of “Encoding Bushido,” a new graphic novel. The campaign began on September 15 and runs for 30 days.

Completed during the coronavirus lockdown, “Encoding Bushido” asks readers “can a robot have honor?” It sets the robotic siblings of a genius inventor against each other in a future where the virtues of the Samurai are forgotten.

Set in an alternate future, Master Mecha designer Takeshi Nakamura stalls the government acquisition of his latest creation – the perfectly loyal soldier. But the prototype, Anjin, cast aside in the Master’s favor has developed an emergent behavior – jealousy.

“Encoding Bushido” is the first full graphic novel by Jesse Mesa Toves, a Los Angeles based Emmy nominated, multiple VES award winning visual effects artist and animator. Best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and Syfy’s Defiance, Jesse is originally from the island of Guam, USA. For more information, please contact [email protected]com
