Farewell Michael Mantlo

G“Day Crusaders,

This is tough for me..

Sadly Michael Mantlo the brother and advocate of Bill Mantlo has passed away.

Once I learnt of Bill Mantlo and his situation I stumbled upon a Bill Mantlo Facebook page where fans of Rom Spaceknight, Cloak and Dagger, Rocket Racoon and other Bill Mantlo creations would mingle together to share fan art and other related articles. One of the please aspects was seeing Michael Mantlo at the helm and posting pictures of Bill to keep fans in the loop.

I was brave enough to ask Michael for a podcast interview, he immediately agreed. We struggled to confirm a date and time.. he was working late and I am based in Australia we couldn’t jump on a date. One moment that was touching, I suggested for him to be interviewed by an American colleague from The Undercover Capes, “No, I only want to be interviewed by you!” Michael replied.

This led to the Comic Crusaders interview, see below.

Michael’s heart was undeniably large, sharing Bill’s legacy onto fans into significant detail including recent photos and updates. He was generous by taking time to reply to messages and posts. He tirelessly looked after his brother, there is no denying his commitment.He will be sorely missed by the members of the Bill Mantlo Facebook Page and we’d send through our condolences to his Wife Liz, brother Bill and his friends and family.

Rest In Peace Michael.
