PREVIEW: Thompson Heller: Detective Interstellar

Thompson Heller is a private detective who travels the stars solving cases that have political or moral intrigue in Thompson Heller: Detective Interstellar, a three-issue mini-series from Source Point Press and Comics Experience written by Milton Lawson with art from Dave Chisholm. The first issue will be in shops Wednesday, Oct. 28 and further issues are available for pre-order now.

An old friend has been accused of murder and Thompson Heller travels to a faraway planet to investigate. Heller doesn’t believe his friend is guilty, but video surveillance seems to prove otherwise. While on the case, Heller sees friction in his romantic life. He’s falling in love with his recurring intellectual sparring partner, a prominent religious academic. The complication arises from the fact that he’s the most prominent atheist in the galaxy. Another impossible case for the man whose friends call him “Hell!”

“Thompson Heller is another great comic curated by Comics Experience and we’re very excited for its release. It’s a perfect blend of mystery and science fiction, a great fit in our lineup of titles. Readers who have enjoyed our publications in the past are going to love this mini-series,” says SPP Art Director Joshua Werner.

The final issue of Thompson Heller: Detective Interstellar will be released Wednesday, Dec. 30, featuring a visual symphony of Chisholm madness including an astrophysics eccentric warping the fabric of space-time, electro-sword wielding assassins, and vanishing traffic-control staffers.

Comics Experience is an online learning community created by Andy Schmidt featuring remote courses, creators workshop, mentoring, and a publishing program. Source Point Press is a division of Ox Eye Media, publishing books, comics, and graphic novels. Thompson Heller: Detective Interstellar #1 is in shops Wednesday, Oct. 28. Further issues are available to pre-order now and will be released Wednesdays, Nov. 25, and Dec. 30.
