Review: 920LONDON TP

902 London starts off with two emo Foxes who have taken a train to Camden Town London at first it’s not quite clear what they have one there for but from the surroundings it can be inferred that they are looking for more drugs, specifically Mushrooms.  The two foxes are in a codependent relationship. One of them is a not quite detransitioned Fox and the other is the ex- girlfriend of a rising rock star.

902london taps into the trending segment of existentialism that is so prevalent these days, FOMO, the fear of missing out. Truly the only thing that’s keeping me back from greenlighting 902London as going far is the  constant reference to drugs.  For me it didn’t really add to the story nor was it needed to give the characters any type personality. That was just emoted just fine in the art.

Speaking of ”¦the center of Gravity for 902London is definitely the art. Marked by detailed backgrounds and the characters who emote not just with their facial expressions but with their body language, is something that is missing in a lot of other moder day comics.

Not for everybody but more aimed at the Goth/Emo crowd. Part Beastars part Trainspotting but the humour kinda reminds me of Maneaters.  Could totally do well if this was Manga, but its’ not so it will have to battle it out from the trenches of graphic novels.  That’s a shame because it is entertaining and I hope to see more of Kiki and Hanna.
