REVIEW: A Town Called Terror #1
It starts with a pathologist that walks into an autopsy room is under extra-ordinary security measures. Once he gets in, he starts to assemble a bunch of body parts and once he puts the stuff back together, surprisingly the body comes back to life and gets up and starts talking.
In the second act, we go to another town, and we meet Henry West and his wife, Julie, who are enjoying a quiet night at home, until a group of armed men break into their house and take Henry away.
It turns out that, Henry Is the son of the formerly dead man and these Cloak and Dagger specialist have been assigned to escort him the town called Terror.
The Script:
Great Opener. It will be interesting to figure out what’s going on with the father, Henry knows that the guy dies occasionally. Also the employees are in on it so that adds another element to the story.
The Art:
A lot of symbiology. Art by Syzmon Kudranski. The artist deserves some kudos on the methodology. There’s a lot of. color to the panels and you can feel that that they were trying to make sure that you understood that the color meant something. Kudos as well to Brown the letter, I love the fact that the lettering didn’t overpower the art or feel the need to over explain stuff. Over-all the aesthetic reminds me of Phantasm from the 80s.
Speculation:
Most definitely. This is one that people are going to work watch out for. There was a thank you variant that people should be on the hunt for.
Final Verdict:
Definitely. Um, Four out of five. A good start for me, this was just a good freaking book, that satisfied my quench for good horror. So, we’ll see how it goes.
