G’Day Yall!

This is Dodgy86 in the mix, bringing you another comic book review. Today I will tell you about Booger Beard by Vincente “Vinny” Navarrete.

I must say, after reading this I will never look at beards the same way again!

The title sums it up, it’s a Beard made of Booger… That’s all I would add! It tells the story told by a little boy named Mijo, who has the biggest sneeze (and by the title, you know what happens!) and with his beard becomes imaginative characters and goes on adventures. Whilst his mother looks on with disgust and reminds of reality.

Judging by the title I didn’t think much of it… This was a surprising original read. The art was pleasant and the satire gross, but very funny. It felt very short because I enjoyed it very much with a few LOL moments. Mijo’s Hispanic roots were well implemented into the dialogue with his mother which is a fun distraction, I went to my Spanish-English dictionary to look up the meanings. Until I noticed the appendix at the end!

My only gripe is that I wish there were more to add to the story by expanding on the adventures to keep it ongoing rather than a one-shot.

I had fun with this and I’m sure you will too!

Gracias Senor Navarrete!
