Videogame Review: Brawlhalla

Brawlhalla is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Blue Mammoth games. I“ve loved fighting games since I was a young boy, and Brawlhalla embodies everything I look for in a new game to sink all of my time into.

Brawlhalla is one of the few good fighting games that is playable for up to four players at a time. The game is fun for casuals and hardcore games due to the easy to learn, hard to master nature of the game. The massive roster of character has each character able to wield two different weapons. Each weapon has it’s own basic moves set, and while weapons overlap each character has a few different moves to add even more depth to the game. Brawlhalla has casual and ranked modes, as well as stock (number of lives) and score keeping mechanics.

I found myself playing each character and trying to find one that clicked, and finally I found my main, Hattori. Each time I played a match I would figure out how to eliminate people in better and more stylish ways. I have played this game with people that rarely play games at all, as well as hardcore gamers and each match felt as if every player had a chance to win. I have truly enjoyed this game, and if you are looking for a fun fighting game to play with a group of friends I would highly recommend it. I give Brawlhalla 5/5 stars.
