REVIEW: Comichaus #3

This new indie British monthly Comichaus consists of several stories of the dark and sinister. Sadly I missed issue two but with each chapter of these tales being only a few pages catching up is a snap. Before I talk about my favourite two stories here are the titles and creators of each story and for a quick synopsis and what I think of each story check out my review of issue 1.

Karyn Shade in ‘Beyond Forth’
written by James McCullock with art and letters by Jessica Byrne.

‘Feather’
Written by Dave Cook
Art by Morrie Miller

‘Suited and Booted’
Written by Jon Laight
Art by Fan Butcher

‘Troubleshooters’
Written by Aaron Walters
Art by Edwin Bickford

‘Mortality’
By Luke Cooper

‘Chalk’
Script and inks by Steven Horry
Pencils by Catia Fantini
Letters by Colin Bell

So jumping to the story that I was most looking forward to reading ‘Karyn Shade’ this one is a fantastically good read with comedy moments that are truly funny and some absolutely gorgeous art, with our leading lady going from annoyed motorist who has broken down to bad ass saviour of children. This is a title I would like a monthly of on its own.
The other story I jumped to was ‘Mortality’ the tale of a father and daughter killed in a car crash and caught in limbo by the underlings of the Grim Reaper, again this one has its funny moments while maintaining its chilling edge. The art for this one is not as good but the story makes up for it in spades.

I’m giving this book full marks for the two stories I love, although I have read them all, In my opinion the stars are Mortality and Karyn Shade.

Do you agree with my review or think I couldn’t be more wrong?

Dawn of Comics
Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
