Review: Eat the Rich #2 (of 5)

Story Thus far:

In the Premiere  issues of Eat the Rich #1,  Joey, a Tildon University Student accompanied her boyfriend to his family’s Beach house.   It was her first time navigating the domain of the upper-class, so naturally she was nervous.  Eventually things went from Bad to Worse possible scenario, as Joey accidently sees something that turns the retirement party turns into a Soylent Green situation.

In the current issue Eat the Rich #2, Joey  now emotionally scarred from what she saw wants to leave.  Until she has a conversation the Petal, the nanny who explains that what she saw was not as bad as she thought…depending on your perspective.

Art:

The Art team for Eat the Rich #2 consist of Artist: Pius Bak; Color Artist: Roman Titov; Letterer: Cardinal Rae.  Nothing big here.  As most of the panels were pointed towards the big conversation between Petal and Joey.

Script:

Both timely and good, this issue will be a tough act to follow.  I know what the readers were expecting from this title, but it certainly isn’t whatever the heck this is.  It is better.   As things points in the narrative become focused it is clear the Gailey wants to straddle the grey line in between Morality, common respect for Humanity and on the other side economic Reality.

The dialogue was amazing, clear enough for even the most obtuse reader.  Petal’s character took some n  economic gripes from the lower-class and  juxtaposing them if you will, in a way which makes the depths they will go to solve their problems appear absurd.

Speculation:

First let me say, how the matter of fact about cannibalism reminds me of Chu.  So, far Eat the Rich has more grip to it, more cultural value.  Hard and fast out the gate it hard to speculate on this book yet.  Interesting enough there is an Eat the Rich #2 issue that appears to have a printing error on the cover top Right corner. Says it’s issue 1 but on the back, it is clearly issue 2.  But the premier issue incentive EAT THE RICH #1 (OF 5) CVR F 50 COPY INCV FOIL FRISON is doing well.

Covers:

Eat the Rich #2 has 4 covers: Kevin Tong; CVR B Rebecca Carey; CVR C 1:10  Kevin Tong; Cover D 1:25 Maria Llovet.
