Review: Frankie And The Creepy Cute Critters HC

Frankie and the Creepy Cute Critters | Book by Caitlin Rose Boyle | Official Publisher Page | Simon & SchusterFrankie And The Creepy Cute Critters Hc, is about a cute little, 8 year old fairy who has just moved to a new neighborhood with her Mom. Also with the new home she and has to go to a new school. Frankie is interesting, because just like her mother, she likes science, field guides and to explore nature. So, Naturally she can“t wait to go to school. Once she gets to her class, the rest of the class realizes that Frankie is a not-so-typical fairy; therefore she gets bullied at school in her first day.

In order to shake of the events of the day, Frankie wanders out into the woods to engage in her favorite hobby, nature observation, and discovers a valuable lesson that it’s possible to be creepy and cute. A lesson that she takes back to her class, in order to find her way.

Great lessons from this Frankie And The Creepy Cute Critters, include the encouragement to explore nature; the fact that first impressions are not always the last.

Frankie And The Creepy Cute Critters, is a small 40 page comic, and is great for young readers. Even though it wasn“t Halloween centric, I could definitely see Frankie as a late October staple. Kudos to the integration of parts of science and exploration in this comic. I highly recommend it for the ages of 5 and up. They will definitely feel drawn to the bright colors and possums and will learn about the uniqueness in being creepy.

I definitely love the originality of this book. Combining the magical myths of fairies, along with a short effective treatise that encourages STEM interest could not have been that easy. I can only hope thisis not the last we hear from Frankie

4 stars out of 5 .
