REVIEW: Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corp # 8

G’Day Crusaders,

This is Dodgy in the mix bringing you Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #8 by Robert Venditti with art by Ethan Van Sciver and Jason Wright, letters by Dave Sharpe.
Published by DC Comics.

After a devastating encounter between Hal Jordan and his former mentor-antagonist Sinestro, the result caused their surroundings to be obliterated and there is no clue of the whereabouts of the warring duo. Did they survive the carnage?

Soranic (the daughter of Sinestro) and a handful of Sinestro Corps members fled Warworld with their prisoner Guy Gardner to seek refuge in the care of the Green Lantern Corps and a peace token hand over Guy unscathed.
Would the Green Lantern Corps welcome Soranic and her Sinestro Corps members?

I love the direction Venditti is taking this Green Lantern Corps. Eight issues in and we still see the Corps no longer the space police-force they once were and are recovering from defeat which makes it even more interesting. I like that Hal Jordan is not the only focused Lantern, John Stewart has proven that he can lead the Corps with or without Jordan’s presence and Guy Gardner adds grit to the lineup. I hope to see more focus on other non-human Green Lanterns by increasing their dialogue.

There are two cool super villains who make their unexpected appearances into the book giving substance to an already exciting read. Who they are, read it and find out! Van Sciver, one of the true Green Lantern artist (Ivan Reis is the other -if asking) and the colors are flawless in delivering this beautiful spectacle of a chapter in DC’s greatest space adventure book.

This would not be the book to read from issue number 8, it is still early days and you can still pick up issues 1 to 7 from your local comic store or on Comixology. This book bleeds epic awesomeness! For fans of Lantern books you will not be disappointed and do ya’self and check it out!
