REVIEW: Haunted Graveyard at Lake Compounce

Hey everyone, we at Comic Crusaders received an invite to check out the Haunted Graveyard at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT as the fall season is upon us, why not take a small trip? Team Mega went and experienced a helluva fun time in this family friendly, theme park/Halloween based event!

In order to prep to get the wits scared out of us we got on some cools rides, spinning saucers, roller coasters, giant swings, etc… It was a blast to prep for the terrors headed our way and then came dusk! At dusk is when the graveyard opened to descend its many horrors upon us! We waited about a good 45 minutes to get into the graveyard, it was opening day for this event. As we spoke to fans on the line, they were very anxious to get in and had very positive remarks about their past Graveyard events.

Once inside the scares began, very impressive from the get, the Lake C team did an amazing job with the setup! We went through a myriad of horror scenarios in our quest to escape this 45 minute, 1 mile, walk through your worst nightmares. From witches in the woods, to blood diners with fresh human meat, and more we had a blast! My wife and daughter screamed their lungs out at the jump scares and disgusting scenery.

There were alot of cool features, one that I enjoyed was an effect of a rock coming at you ala raiders of the lost ark, well done effect. Then there was a mini bridge with a wall that moved, once you walk through it was the floor that was moving, or so you think, amazing optical illusion that messes with your senses to prep you for more ensuing horrors and geez those blinking lights really messed me up!

The park itself is then filled with many employees, cosplaying, as horror icons. Many just follow you around in a very creepy way, giving you this awful sense of dread as you peruse the park, I loved it! This is a great fall family event to attend, I highly recommend going, enjoy the theme park, the treats (e.g. drinks in blood bags) and of course this very fun and scary Graveyard!
