REVIEW: Jughead: The Hunger

I’m a sucker for the Archie Horror line. If you haven’t had a chance to read the mini-series “Afterlife with Archie” then you are missing out on what ended up being a surprisingly entertaining zombie tale featuring Riverdale’s favorite teens. This one-shot is a continuation of infusing the Archie universe with horror elements to surprising effects.

This time we are focusing on Jughead. Jug is renowned for his voracious appetite, but in this installment his hunger comes from a much darker place. In order to avoid spoilers there is not much more I can say without giving away the plot twist. I can tell you this much…

Jughead is the victim of a monthly transformation that makes him the target of another Riverdale teen who is living as a secret monster hunter.

If that doesn’t peak your interest this entertaining tale I don’t know what will. The story was a quick read; the art was VERY creepy and moody; all helping set the perfect stage for a book that would be great to read on Halloween.

Final Score: 4 out of 5 stars.
