REVIEW: Kanan #9

G“Day Crusaders,

This is Dodgy86 in the mix bringing you Kanan # 9 by Greg Weisman with art by Pepe Larraz and colors by David Curiel.

First Blood Part III

This is the story is set 15 years after the closure of the Jedi Council, a young Padawan named Caleb Dume who is later known as Kanan Jarrus (from the TV series Star Wars Rebels). Caleb is guided by a Jedi Master named Depa Billaba and her band of former clone troopers as they plan to attack a base on Kardoa. Little do the band know there are a welcoming committee awaiting them..They“re under attack!!..

The story and cross referencing Star Wars events and characters are welcoming – especially story introduction is very much a Star Wars opening sequence, I was never a fan of the Star Wars comics from the 90s to the 2000s due to the storyboard and the art. This book in particular has awesome pacing as well as great action sequences, plus a bit of witty humor to boot. The art is very appealing especially in the action is eye candy! This book has converted me.

The cliff hanger at the end is very much Marvel and it“s welcoming!

For cosmic comic lovers and Star Wars fans alike, this book is A-grade and do ya“self a favor and check it out!
