REVIEW: Killeroo Scars #1

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Badass Roo in a leather jacket on a motorbike…. HELL YES! Simple art and earth tones combine fluidly.

First up who doesn’t want to read about a killer Kangaroo? If you said you don’t, you’re lying, cause it’s awesome. From his tragic origin to his almost death at the hands of a biker gang, this book tells the story of Rofus, a human/kangaroo hybrid created as a weapon of war. Finding family and his place in the world and then having that ripped from him, Rofus travels the Australian outback protecting those that can not protect themselves.

The story itself keeps your interest and the pacing doesn’t slow, the action is fast and hard, brutal panels with minimal swear words that don’t seem overused or used for shock factor make it grown up and serious. The art is gorgeous, the lack of colour allows you to take in the detail without being distracted by too many colourful panels.

Kangaroos beating up guys makes this an awesome book. 5 stars for me.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
