G“Day Folks!

This is Dodgy86 in the mix, bringing you another comic book review. Today I will tell you about Mandrake the Magician # 2 by Roger Langridge with art by Jeremy Treece.

You think you have wife problems? Think again”¦ Mandrake“s wife Narda is after rocks (and not of the bling kind!) with an evil plan to use their power to take over the world! Not even marriage counselling can help him now, instead the legendary Magician accompanied by his sidekick Karma to take on Narda the Cobra Queen and her faithful servants to prevent her plan!

I recall Mandrake from the Sunday newspapers and the classic TV series Guardians of the Earth, but this is the first time I encountered him in a comic book with a modern twist. This a surprising joy to read, it“s action-packed with humour. Treece“s facial expressions are marvellous, you can actually read their lips and expressions.

It ends with a “to be continued” cliff-hanger which means I definitely recommend this… I cannot wait to read the next chapter!
