Let’s judge this book by its cover… Bloody foot prints, spooky bride and shadowy bodies. It’s very simple but well done.

The facts are these… Six mismatched super criminals Catman, Strix, Porcelain, The Ventriloquist & Freddy, Big Shot aka The Elongated Man and Black Alice have been thrown together are now working as a team to find out who trapped then together and why. Turns out it was the Riddler. His beef? One of them stole his diamond and he wants it back. He can hold a grudge.
The Riddler has Big Shots wife hostage and has Agreed to give her back if Big Shot lures his team to the docks.

Now if you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… The team are ambushed by the Riddler and his men while he orders the return of his diamond or he will start shooting knee caps, starting with black Alice. This is not what big shot agreed to and refuses to help the Tiddler. Strix asked Catman if he wants to help or should she do it alone. The Riddler is confused and asks what she means. Catman tells him that Strix wants to know if he is going to help her take out Riddlers men. Riddler looks afraid and asks if she can do that? Catman lets him know that she already has, in a blur of action Strix takes out every last man on team Riddler while Catman knocks the Riddler around himself. Just as it looks like the team have the upper hand Sue, Big Shots wife, pulls out a trigger threatening to blow them all up. The team turn their attention to sue but big shot steps in between to stop them. While the six face off the Riddler makes his escape but is confronted by Freddy who drills holes in his shin and foot and admits that he stole the diamond and no one knows not even the Ventriloquist know’s. Black Alice borrows the power of Black Orchid to help stop the fighting while Sue hops on a boat and detonates the harbor. The team manage to jump into the water and swim to shore, there we see that Freddy has lost the diamond and the Spectre has recalled the power from Black Alice and has apparently killed her. To be continued.

This whole run has been very well written and has made of these not so well know characters not only likeable but interesting too. The art is fantastic and the pacing is perfect.

The good, the bad and the star rating…
The Good- Action packed with great characters.
The Bad- 6 issues in this story should have finished by now. Still dealing the first bad guys feels a little dragged out.
The Stars- For a bad guy book it’s great. It’s similar to the suicide squad but less likely to have a character killed off. 4 stars for this one. Can’t fault the writing or the art.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
