Let’s judge this book my its cover… What a beautifully dark cover. The different details for each character is stunningly done.

If you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… Goon, Freddy and the kid are driving through thick fog following the caravan when they come across a spooky looking carnival. Lured in by the promise of butts, candy and beer the three enter. Inside we meet Roxi D’lite, the queen of cooch for Dirty Devils peep show. She wants to be free of the carnival and is told by the two-headed mystic that she needs to find someone to take her place. At the peep show Freddy recognises Roxi and rushes to her side. With a promise of sugar he agrees to take her place as queen of the cooch and is handed a tiny bikini. Zombo appears, the monster leader of this hellish freak show and refuses Freddy as his queen, banishing him and his friends from his carnival. In the woods outside Roxi makes her escape but is stopped by Zombo and taken back. Goon, Freddy and the kid drive off claiming that was only the fifth weirdest Halloween they’ve ever had.

Ok so it’s weird, really weird. It feels like it’s meant to be an adult book but the language used is very pg-13 while the art of Roxi is very grown up. It’s gorgeously drawn, switches from cartoony to dark gothic and back very beautifully.

The good, the bad and the star rating…
The Good – Stunning art and ok story.
The Bad – Very short and not as funny as it could have been.
The Stars – Not too sure what it was going for, Horror or comedy. If falls short in both cases. That said it’s still a 3 star book for the art alone.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
