REVIEW: The Hunger and the Dusk Issue 1

The tale of The Hunger and the Dusk is a work of fantasy, revolving around courageous fighters hailing from diverse origins, each seeking fertile terrain to preserve their survival. Throughout time, these champions engaged in relentless conflicts over territory until a formidable adversary compelled them to unite as comrades-in-arms, confronting an unprecedented menace, one that possessed formidable strength and an insatiable thirst for their very lives.

This first issue expresses an amazing and well written story with impressive visual art that almost jumps off the pages. The character and world development is really good. Issue one starts in an impressive way. You will want to get into this story early as this will surely make its way to an animated series. Yeah, it’s that good.

Originated and penned by the acclaimed wordsmith G. Willow Wilson, an illustrious author who has garnered numerous accolades including the prestigious Eisner Award, Harvey Award, and Locus Award. Notably recognized as the co-creator of the remarkable superheroine Ms. Marvel – Kamala Khan, G. Willow Wilson has showcased her remarkable writing prowess across esteemed literary realms. In addition to her contributions to the Marvel Universe through compelling works like Mystic and Ms. Marvel, she has also lent her creative talents to DC Comics, leaving an indelible mark on titles such as Wonder Women and The Dreaming. Demonstrating her versatility, Wilson has ventured into the realm of graphic novels, captivating readers with the mesmerizing tale of Cairo published under Vertigo, alongside her ongoing captivating comic series Air. Moreover, she has expanded her literary prowess to encompass novel writing, captivating audiences with enthralling works like Alif the Unseen and The Bird King, thus solidifying her position as a prominent figure in the realm of literature.
