REVIEW: The Walking Dead #162

I’m not going to waste a lot of time going in-depth in this review. If you’ve read a TWD issue then you’re familiar with the creative team. The quality of the book remains the same as always.

What has changed is that this is the conclusion of the Whisper War. The Whisperers are a group of anarchist that wear the flesh of the dead to move undetected among the zombie masses. These crazed marauders have burned down the community of the Hilltop, although most of the citizens escaped thanks to the quick thinking of Maggie.

What I can’t explain is the impact that the last few pages have as a cliffhanger. Rick and the gang are about to be in for the worst time of their lives, and considering the trials and tribulations that these characters have been through, imagine what is headed their direction. Kirkman has somehow found a way to take the drama and the action and turn it back up to eleven.

Final Thought: If you thought you had seen everything that TWD has to offer then you ain’t seen nothing yet. Three words-  Massive. Zombie. Horde.

Final Score: 4 ½ Stars
