REVIEW: Transformers Vs. G.I. Joe Vol. 2

Writer: Tom Scioli, John Barber Artist: Tom Scioli Published by IDW

Imagine Jack Kirby and Grant Morrison could reproduce and the result of that unpleasant union loved Transformers and G.I. Joe and decided to base a comic on its playtime shenanigans, this would be it.

No idea what the story is, other than everyone’s fighting, all the Transformers and Joe’s are in it and Scarlett kills her husband and kids then burn her house down.

There’s no actual way to review this, you’ll either think it’s a masterpiece of youthful observation with utterly charming artwork or a raving, incomprehensible mess with childlike dialogue. That all depends on whether you’re a fan of either franchise or outré weirdness.

There’s a lot of it, most of it looks amazing, Megatron using Grimlock’s head for a hand…yeah.

If you like whimsy and come from the eighties, you’ll love this.
