REVIEW: Wonder Woman #46

Wonder Woman #46
Written by Meredith Finch
Penciled by David Finch
Inked by Scott Hanna
Coloured by Brad Anderson

Let’s judge this book by it’s cover… This one looks a little off, maybe it’s the painted style of it but it’s the first cover by the Finches that I’m not too keen on.

So Wonder Woman is Goddess of War now… For those that don’t know. The problem is that she’s acting more like the god of peace,  and the real goddess of peace has a really big problem with that. Sending Ageus (a young half god ) after Wonder Woman time and again and failing she’s decided to do the job herself and picks a fight with the Amazon Warrior.

At a glance this book could be mistaken for a slow issue with nothing more than 20 pages of talking and 2 pages of fighting. When in fact the case Eirene the Goddess of Peaceputa forward to Diane is very well written and makes a lot more sense then Diane gives it credit for. Passing over her warning as nothing more than the ravings of a grieving woman. I have to say it opened my eyes a little to what peace and war actually mean. Again like the issues before I cannot fault the art, the faces are stunning and the each panel is gorgeous. I’m a massive Wonder Woman fan but I’m honest when an issue isn’t good, this is far from the best issue but by no means is the worst.

For me it’s a solid 4 star book.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
