Videogame Review: Destination Primus Vita – Episode 1: Austin

Destination Primus Vita is a narrative, first-person and episodic puzzle game set in a science-fiction universe. Follow the adventures of our main six characters: Austin, Hayao, Artemis, BrX, Geny and Coby as they travel across the cosmos to Primus Vita to complete their vital mission”¦ to save life on Earth!

Episodic games are becoming more and more popular. From the earlier games of the Walking dead which leads to the vast library of Telltale games comes a refreshing indie take on the genre from Epsilon Games published by Green Man Gaming Publishing.

Designation Primus Vita showcases stunning visuals as you play as Austin in Episode 1 searching Primus Vita in their quest to save life on Earth. While the game consists of mostly point and click segments it offers some refreshing and challenging puzzles at times. Combat coming in the form of movements to avoid the current inhabitants of Primus Vita.

The story telling will feel similar to other episodic adventures, however it pulls you in with the unique world Epsilon has created. The characters and your interaction with them didn“t quite have as much depth as I would have liked, however I still enjoyed my time working through the puzzles and getting to know the crew sent to save the Earth and their past.

Overall I would recommend a play through of this episodic adventure and could really seeing it develop over the future episodes. If you are a fan of this genre, puzzles games I give this a 4 out of 5 stars.
